Life Enrichment at The Pearl at Jamestown

A Well Balanced Life

At The Pearl at Jamestown, we integrate our Live, Love, Learn philosophy into everything we do. Our daily activities, calendar of events, and special programs are designed to coincide with the National Wellness Institute’s Six Dimensions of Wellness: Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, Occupational (Sense of Purpose), Social, and Spiritual Wellness. Our skilled team works carefully to provide active days where each of the six dimensions of wellness are applied. A person with a strong wellbeing can display the following habits:

  • Exhibits a positive attitude – Emotional Wellness
  • Exercises regularly – Physical Wellness
  • Engages in intellectual or cultural activity – Cognitive Wellness
  • Sets goals – Sense of Purpose
  • Socializes with friends and family – Social Wellness
  • Spends time in prayer and/or meditation – Spiritual Wellness

Activities with Wellness in Mind

Geriatric depression is commonly diagnosed in seniors who lack social interaction, which can lead to a degradation of their overall wellness. The executives and associates at The Pearl at Jamestown design programs to keep seniors engaged. The Pearl at Jamestown Activity Gulde Books, which are made accessible to all associates, provide very descriptive programming instructions, as well as identify our residents’ preferences.

Activities offered include:

  • Dakim brain fitness, Worship opportunities, Nature exploration
  • Stress reduction exercise, Volunteer opportunities
  • Themed social gatherings, Tai Chi/Qigong
  • Cocktail hours, Arts and crafts
