Stacy, a dedicated team member since May 7, 2001, began as an RCA and advanced to a Med Tech. Her compassion and commitment shines through in every aspect of her work, from providing outstanding care to leadership of the wellness team. She even helps with hosting activities, cooking, maintenance, and training fellow associates. Residents admire her so much that they planned and organized her wedding at the community. Stacy’s personal touch and unwavering care have built trust and familiarity, ensuring every resident at Madison feels like family. She goes above and beyond, volunteering on days off, decorating the community, and always prioritizing dignity and comfort for those she serves. Stacy’s energy and conscientiousness make her a true cornerstone of the community. She lights up faces. To her, no one is alone, everyone is part of the family.
The Phoenix at Union Hill
Jamel, the lead server in our dining room, exemplifies professionalism, kindness, and hospitality. He consistently goes above and beyond, stepping in to prepare breakfast when needed and maintaining a positive attitude even in challenging situations. Known for his 5-star service, Jamel connects with residents through his warmth, tremendous smile, and genuine care. His teamwork with all Union Hill departments ensures smooth operations and he is always ready to lend a hand. One notable instance highlights his quick thinking when he saved a resident’s life by dislodging a choking hazard. A review from a resident praised Jamel’s ability to manage 10 tables while still offering individual attention. Jamel serves with his heart, making every guest feel valued and cared for.
The Phoenix at Lake Joy
Eric is a frontline caregiver known for his positive attitude, recognizable laugh, and unwavering dedication to residents. A proud Alabama fan, he connects with residents over sports, understanding its power to bring people together. Eric plays a central role in spirit weeks, using his passion to inspire community pride at Lake Joy. He takes the time to learn about each resident’s interests and history, providing them with a sense of purpose and belonging. His kindness and compassion help others feel comfortable and at ease. Eric has a strong work ethic and believes that “teamwork makes the dream work.” Eric exemplifies dedication. Once, when faced with car trouble, he walked to work through the rain to ensure he was there for the residents, saying simply, “Residents are counting on me to be here.”

Roderick, our FBD, is known for his incredible smile and passion for cooking. He goes above and beyond by mentoring staff and offering comfort to residents. If a resident arrives late for breakfast, he assures them they’re "just in time" and cooks to their delight. He loves residents and takes the time to learn their names, favorite recipes, and dining preferences. Roderick builds connections by playing card games with residents and making them feel valued. He is a true friend to all, empowering his team to grow their skills while embracing new challenges. Roderick’s dedication to learning has allowed him to contribute to the opening of Beau & Belle at Conyers, where he takes great pride in providing a fine dining experience that exceeds expectations for residents and staff alike.

The Pearl at Watkins Centre
Jemel, our BOM, faced an incredibly challenging year with grace and strength. While supporting his sister through lung cancer, his father’s battle with prostate cancer and Alzheimer’s, and caring for his younger brother with special needs, Jamel continued to keep Watkins Centre running smoothly. He built strong relationships with families, offering personal connections that were both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Despite the loss of his sister, mother, and father in quick succession, Jemel remained composed, ensuring that his coworkers and residents had meaningful holiday celebrations. His unwavering dedication to others, even while grieving, and his mentorship of a new BOM at another community, showcases his remarkable resilience and commitment. Jemel’s ability to persevere and stay strong for everyone around him is truly inspiring.

The Bungalows at Jonesboro
Genia is an exceptional POD whose dedication has transformed the community. She encourages both residents and families to participate in her high-volume activities, achieving record participation rates at Jonesboro. Through her daily support, including praying with residents and offering words of encouragement, she creates a nurturing environment. When she took over programming, the reputation score soared from 458 to 900. Genia’s comprehensive approach extends to social media, where she consistently engages families for reviews. Always willing to lend a hand, she even facilitated the donation of a car to a coworker in need of transportation to work. Recognized for her volunteer work by the Humane Society, a hospice company, and her church, Genia inspires both her team and residents to reach their full potential every day.
